Pan Fried White Wine Herb Mussels

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of mussels
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 small diced shallot
  • 1 tbsp Smak Dab White Wine Herb mustard
  • 1/2 cup freshly chopped herbs (we use basil & parsley)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup white wine

Directions

  1. Rinse the mussels well with cold water and de-beard. Discard any mussels that are already slightly open and won’t close when you tap them lightly. While cleaning set a pan on med - high heat.
  2. Put the mussels in a bowl. Add in a good splash of cream, 2 cloves of garlic (minced), diced shallot, a spoonful of White Wine Herb mustard, freshly chopped herbs, and a splash of white wine. Once pan is hot to the point of almost smoking, place in mussesl. Cook mussels until they are just opened. Discard any mussels that didn’t open during cooking.
  3. Remove mussels and reduce sauce slightly over heat and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce over the mussels and serve with warm bread!
