Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad with "Liquid Gold" Dressing
Ingredients
"Liquid gold" Dressing
1 tbsp Smak Dab Canadian Maple or Honey Horseradish Mustard
2 tsp Smak Dab Hot Honey Jalapeño Mustard
1 tsp maple syrup
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp bacon fat (or sub for more olive oil if you're short)
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Brussel Sprout Salad
2.5 cups shaved brussels sprouts
1 cup celery, finely sliced
1/2 apple, sliced
1/4 cup dates, chopped
1/4 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
4 strips thick-cut bacon, sliced into 1/2" pieces
3/4 cup aged white cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
In a large skillet, cook the bacon on medium until crispy and browned. Scoop out the bacon and pour the fat into a small bowl. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the shaved brussels sprouts, celery, apple, dales, walnuts, bacon and cheese.
In a jar, combine the mustard, maple syrup, vinegar, bacon far, olive oil, salt and pepper. Shake well and taste for additional seasoning, if needed.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well to combine. Serve immediately!
